A poster presented preliminary investigations into the issue of pervasive computing and
mental health. Research has been carried out on the use of computers to diagnose and
provide aid to patients suffering from mental illness, however the use of pervasive computing
has received very little attention. Mental health problems can be defined as disorders
within the mind that effect the normal life of an individual and can range from depression
to extreme conditions such psychosis where an individual can be devoid of reality. One in
four people suffer from a mental health problem within a year, severe mental health problems
are, however more rare. Below is a link to a poster presented at the British Computer
Society, Human-Computer Interactions Conference.
